done!

I have finished my presentations in Chalmers. Now I am going to work on my report more, to have a fulfill book  with all information in a readable and understandable format and giving what we can take from neuroarchitecture and especially what I took from neuroarctiecture, and I feel like I can still work on investigating through, maybe personally maybe academically or within professional experience. I am tired to update everything I missed to write during presentations, but I am slowly updating the previous dates entries. So you may check the blog index, of may and april, to see what is new!

Informal visit to Östra Sjukhuset, Psychiatry

Östra Sjukhuset psychiatry clinic in Göteborg, is designed by White Arkitekter, and opened in 2006. It doesn't give the classic image of a clinic, and also as mentioned in White.se, the healing environment was thought to be important for s healing process, so they thought about working on a pleasant design from patient's view. initial steps to design

It is hard to set a design rule for a subject that can have many variables. If we narrow the topic from healthcare to children with brain injuries, it is still going to widen from type of the users, location, visitor frequency, treatments hold in the hospital, or maybe not always a hospital, maybe another environment. What is architect's contribution? This is the question, that what I am trying to filter from all the mass knowledge I take from neuroscience. It feels even so shallow to be able to take knowledge from neuroscience, it is so broad and so medical. I am mostly scanning thorough environmental behaviors, response of brain to perceptions, and figuring out how environment affects the brain. Many literature tends more talking about general aspects, or giving methods of research. Inspiration: Houses with verandas - Haus mit Veranden

I had a non-ordinary sight seeing in Vienna... When you go out of the city center, take the metros, trams, a bit souther, where is starts the new developments, you have to the chance to come across some contemporary architecture. Before I went I searched some whether there are some interesting buildings related with children, and Houses with Verandas by Rüdiger Lainer+Partner (2008), was one of the new housing projects, hosting a day-care center in the site. The concept is extending the green areas in the upper floors with verandas, (I rather call balconies)"  the contextual elements offers sunlight and views for each apartment on the different levels and also for the neighbours."
